Description
This piece was definitely inspired by the animated series "Primal" by Genndy Tartakovsky which is a show following the story of a hunter-gather (which I would highly recommend watching). I have always had an affinity for hunter-gatherers and the nature and wildlife of the world they inhabited, so I decided to make a cartoonish piece about a mammoth being hunted. I tried to take a good bit of creative liberty in designing the mammoth because we don't truly know exactly how they looked since all that remains of them are fossils and recordings of them in cave art. While the idea of hunting mammoths probably sounds impossible its known for a fact that cavemen were able to do this in huge groups and humanity's hunting of them at least aided in their extinction.
